The School of Marxism successfully held an international academic exchange event on the hot issues in the construction of human destiny community and globalized civilization

From September 13 to December 19, 2019, the School of Marxism of Zhejiang University held an international academic exchange event on the theme of hot issues in the construction of human destiny and globalized civilization. The activities were divided into two series: Identity, Migration and Intercivilizational Relations and The Construction of Socialist Spiritual Civilization with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era and the Study of International Spiritual Movements. The event was attended by scholars, academic assistants and administrative staff. During the event, the visiting scholars held 13 internal academic lectures, offered two postgraduate seminar courses: Migration and Identity and The Conflict between Church and State in East Germany, and co-designed two international academic conferences for next year:  International Conference on Political Philosophy: The Significance of Plato, Nietzsche and Strauss for the Construction of the Community of Human Destiny and International Symposium on the Construction of Socialist Spiritual Civilization with Chinese Characteristics and International Spiritual Movements in the New Era, which focused on international cooperation topics, co-publication of books, and mutual visits of teachers and students. During the event, the third phase of the Erasmus project between our institute and the University of Ziegen in Germany was successfully applied for, the project Religious Conflict and its Response between our institute and the University of Bern passed the mid-term inspection, and the international academic journal Review of Alternative Practices and Religions was successfully published.

This event deepened the academic friendship between Chinese and foreign scholars and enhanced the international academic influence of the School of Marxism of Zhejiang University.
