Since 2018,the School of Marxism of Zhejiang University has successfully offered an intensive postgraduate seminar course—Chinese Politics and Culture at the University of Siegen, Germany. The course supported by the Erasmus+ KA107 program, is offered every two years as an academic exchange activity within the framework of the cooperation between the Department of Philosophy of the University of Siegen and the School of Marxism of Zhejiang University in China, with the aim of teaching international students about the theory and practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics and deepening the exchange between teachers and students of both sides. A group of seven lecturers from the School of Marxism completed the second teaching activity of this course, and completed the student assessment and grade registration on March 23.
The course was attended by 30 students, who came from different majors such as political science, history, sociology, law, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, etc. from different countries such as Germany, Turkey, Pakistan, Cameroon, Bangladesh, Serbia, China, etc. This course is an interdisciplinary, transnational and cross-cultural intensive postgraduate seminar course, which has 36 hours and 3 credits.
This course provides a systematic and comprehensive introduction to the development achievements of the Chinese Communist Party since the 19th National Congress and its future prospects from an interdisciplinary perspective. The students attending the course actively participated in listening, communication, collaborative research and interview activities, and engaged in self-management of the classroom.
During the event, both sides discussed the course program, assessment procedures, internship selection program, and jointly designed the next plan for the exchange of teacher-student visits and the specific details of the implementation of the third phase of the Erasmus program. This event won the sincere love of the students and the praise of the teachers of the University of Siegen, and the faculty delegation was met by the Dean of the University of Siegen.
