The 21st annual meeting of The Society for Philosophy and Technology (SPT) was held at Texas A & M University (USA) from May 20, 2019 to May 22, 2019.The SPT annual meeting is held every The SPT annual meeting is held every two years and is hosted by the Department of Philosophy at Texas A & M University. Professor Pan Enrong and master students Sun Zongling and Yang Jiafan from the School of Marxism, Zhejiang University were invited to attend.
The theme of this year's annual conference of the International Society for Philosophy of Technology is: Technology and Power. The paper Tao Te Ching and Design culture for the Good, co-authored by Pan Enrong and Sun Zongling, was presented in the fifth sub-forum Multicultural Perspectives on the Philosophy of Technology. The paper was placed in the fifth panel, Multicultural Philosophies of Technology. The paper How to Bring AI for the Good?, co-authored by Enrong Pan and Jiafan Yang, was presented at the fifth panel, Multicultural Philosophies of Technology. (How to Bring AI for the Good in to Reality?) was placed in the seventh panel, Technology and Innovation. The two papers discussed the issue of Social Risks Caused by Artificial Intelligence and explored the paths to achieving AI for the Good from both Eastern and Western perspectives. In their respective panels, Pan Enrong, Sun Zongling and Yang Jiafan presented their papers for more than 20 minutes, and had constructive exchanges and discussions with many domestic and foreign experts and scholars in the audience.
