On May 6, 2019, the interdisciplinary project Religious Conflict and its Response of the University of Bern, Switzerland, held its annual meeting with more than 60 participants from the University of Bern and international scholars from England, Germany and France.
On May 7, the first sub-topic group held an academic workshop on The Construction of Conflict: The Setting of Self and Other in Comparative Perspective. Associate Professor Zhang Xinzhang from the School of Marxism of Zhejiang University participated in the workshop as one of the leaders of the first subgroup The Epistemological Roots of Conflict: Interreligious Differences in Perception.
Before the meeting, Associate Professor Zhang Xinzhang visited the old town of Bern, accompanied by Professor Luca di Blasi, and visited Katharina Heyden, the director of the project team of the University of Bern.
After the meeting, Prof. Zhang Xinzhang visited Mr. Fulmagalli, Deputy Director of the Biblioteca di Sant'Ambrosio in Milan, Italy, a special researcher of the Center for the Study of Globalization and Civilization of Zhejiang University, and visited the International Book Fair in Turin, Italy.
On May 7, the subgroup Epistemological Roots of Conflict held a mini-seminar on The Construction of Conflict: The Setting of Self and Other in Comparative Perspective in Room 028 of the Main Building, in which Zhang Xinzhang presented Reflections on the Nature of Conflict and its Response in Chinese Marxist Philosophy.
